The Twelth Day in Lent- The Creed: The Second Article

Lutherans are sometimes referred to as "second article Christians."  What is meant by that is we place a primary emphasis upon Jesus- his life, death, and resurrection, which is the emphasis of the second article of the Apostles' Creed.  While I hope we are well balanced in our theology, including all three articles which include God the Creator and Holy Spirit, there is no doubt that we are a faith that is Christ centered.  Today's devotion speaks about the incarnation, which means God becoming flesh, a human being, one of us.  As the author points out, "by choosing to become human,  God shows us that we are worth restoring."  And not just us, all of creation.  As we read in last Sunday's lesson, "God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son."  At a time of great division in our land and in other countries as well, we hope, pray, and work for God's restoration, "one that brings all things together for good.  No one and nothing is outside of God's restorative power."
